Count On Tools, Inc. Will Introduce MYDATA Feeder Repair Kits at APEX

Posted by Z.Shook on 2/19/2016 to Event News

Count On Tools, Inc. (COT), a leading provider of precision components and SMT spare parts, announced plans to expand its repair program for MYDATA Agilis Feeders by offering Feeder Repair Kits. Each MYDATA Feeder Repair Kit will include: a precision machined aluminum side cover plate with cover tape plow pre-installed, a new spring, and matching screws for re-assembly.

This is the only repair option for these feeders on the market and provides significant cost savings in comparison to purchasing replacement feeders. With each broken feeder, customers are throwing away money. Thanks to the introduction of the new Feeder Repair Kits, customers can expect much higher durability combined with significant cost savings and reduced waste.

The new MYDATA Feeder Repair Kits can be installed by the customer, eliminating the need for worn / damaged feeders to be sent in to Count On Tools for repair. This new system also allows users to repair feeders with broken finger tabs. The robust all aluminum construction of the new feeder side cover plate means greater strength and more durability. All components are precision machined replacements for the original parts using high quality materials and industry leading coatings. Count On Tools guarantees the functionality of the parts included in the repair kits in the equipment and the ability to extend the life cycle of worn or damaged feeders.

The MYDATA Feeder Repair Kits will be available for the 3.7, 4.0, 4.7, and 5.4 Agilis feeders. To take advantage of this service, customers will need to supply Count On Tools with Feeder ID codes. Count On Tools will then label each feeder with a matching barcode sticker to ensure full functionality with the MYDATA software and equipment.

The program will be officially launched during the IPC APEX EXPO in Las Vegas this March. Customers can stop by the Count On Tools booth (#2801) to see the new product.

Count On Tools, Inc. Introduces ASM Siplace Metal Nozzle Magazines for AdoptSMT’s 7xx/9xx Series

Posted by Z.Shook on 2/19/2016 to Event News

Count On Tools, Inc. (COT), a leading provider of precision components and SMT spare parts, today announced the launch of ASM Siplace Metal Nozzle Magazines for 7xx/9xx Series machines. With each broken nozzle magazine, customers are throwing away money. Thanks to the introduction of this self-designed replacement nozzle magazine for Siplace collect-and-place machines, customers can expect much higher durability combined with significant cost savings and reduced waste.

The newly designed full metal nozzle magazine from AdoptSMT offers several advantages compared to the typical plastic ones offered by the OEM. This new magazine is manufactured with a hardened base plate and a non-moving top plate with complete round holes as nozzle garages, allowing the nozzles to sit securely. The nozzles are held in position by robust springs and detents. Numbers of the nozzle garages are clearly marked and can be read easily.

The new ASM Siplace Metal Nozzle Magazines are compatible with all Siplace 7xx / 9xx Series machines. They are guaranteed to work as a drop-in replacement and are priced to be competitive with OEM plastic versions.

The program will be officially launched during the IPC APEX EXPO in Las Vegas this March. Customers can stop by the Count On Tools booth (#2801) to see the new product.

Count On Tools, Inc. Develops StripFeeder Precision Plate Systems

Posted by Z.Shook on 2/15/2016 to Event News

Count On Tools, Inc. (COT), a leading provider of precision components and SMT spare parts, has added a new product – the Precision Plate – to its award-winning line of StripFeeder systems. The StripFeeder Precision Plate allows customers to run high capacity lanes of micro components, such as 0201s, 01005s and 03015s in 4mm or 8mm tape (paper or emboss), on a single plate.

The StripFeeder Precision Plate features machined lanes based on industry tape standards to securely hold the tape in place during the pick-and-place operation. With the additional support underneath the tape, the microscopic components do not see the violent movement as with some feeder systems. Ball detents located on one end of the rail hold the tape in place by the sprocket hole for part registration and repeatable pick-and-place applications. This means the user only has to teach the pick-up location one time and consistently reload the unit with the same parts over and over for longer runs.

Each StripFeeder Precision Plate is custom made with several stock sizes available in common JEDEC and OEM tray sizes. Each is designed to run all 8mm lanes, all 4mm lanes, or a combination of the two depending on the customer’s specific application

The StripFeeder system is compatible with most types of SMT equipment. The StripFeeder systems are a cost-effective way to load many components, including odd-form and custom components, without having to purchase expensive feeders. The quick-to-assemble, easy-to-install modules are designed for rapid loading of tape-and-reel components on existing SMT pick-and-place equipment. Additionally, the trays enable fast changeover between product runs without unloading from the machine.

The StripFeeder Precision Plate will be displayed for the first time at the IPC APEX EXPO in Las Vegas this March. Customers can stop by the Count On Tools booth (#2801) to see the new product.

Count On Tools Inc. Will Debut New StripFeeder Lightweight Rails at APEX

Posted by Z.Shook on 2/12/2016 to Event News

Count On Tools, Inc. (COT), a leading provider of precision components and SMT spare parts, has released a new accessory – the Lightweight Rails – for its award-winning line of StripFeeder products. The StripFeeder Lightweight Rails enable customers to take full advantage of the StripFeeder platform when operating in OEM tray towers with weight limits on tray capacity. The skeletonized design reduces carrier tray weight by 40-50 percent. StripFeeder Lightweight Rails are available in 0.25" (6mm), 0.50" (12mm), 0.75" (19mm), and 1.125" (28mm) pocket depths.

All StripFeeder .mod and Mini systems feature removable rails that can be mounted to accommodate a wide array of tape sizes in the same feeder. Unlike fixed width tape carrier trays, the StripFeeder can be adjusted by removing the rails and re-positioning them on the base plate at the desired width (4mm pitched pattern). The rails align with precision pin locaters and lock down tightly with magnets to guarantee a stable, repeatable application. All StripFeeder Lightweight Rails also feature a mechanical lock-spring to hold the tape in place by the sprocket hole for part registration and repeatable pick-and-place applications. This means the user only has to teach the pick-up location one time and consistently reload the unit with the same parts over and over for longer runs.

This innovative rail design holds the components securely in the machined tracks to prevent parts from being miss-picked, flipped in the pocket or lost. Customers also can remove rails to accommodate larger components up to 120mm tape width. Count On Tools, Inc. (COT), a leading provider of precision components and SMT spare parts, has released a new version in its award-winning line of StripFeeder products – the StripFeeder Lightweight. Increased demand for use of the StripFeeder platform in OEM automated tray towers prompted the need for a low-mass version to accommodate machine weight limits on tray capacity. The StripFeeder Lightweight system allows customers to take advantage of the StripFeeder platform in these specific applications.

The StripFeeder Lightweight includes six skeletonized rails and COT’s new low-mass base plate. The skeletonized design reduces carrier tray weight by 40-50 percent. StripFeeder Lightweight Rails are available for in 0.25" (6mm), 0.50" (12mm), 0.75" (19mm), and 1.125" (28mm) pocket depths.
