Count On Tools Offers Urethane Nozzle Series for Ultra-Smooth Components

Posted by Z. Shook on 7/4/2012 to New SMT Products

Count On Tools Inc., a leading provider of precision components and SMT spare parts, is pleased announce a breakthrough in custom nozzle engineering for ultra-smooth components from the semiconductor market. The latest series of nozzles feature precision-machined urethane tips that prevent components with very fine surface finishes, such as bare dies and wafer level components, from getting stuck on the nozzle tip during the pick-and-place process.

Count On Tools’ new technology utilizes an exclusive urethane material to create a strong vacuum bond with components and is guaranteed to improve placement accuracy and reliability while overcoming sticking issues with the substrate. Additionally, the new material improves component release onto the board, preventing misplaced parts, lost components, or miss-picks. This design has been tested and proven against other materials commonly used in SMT tooling (such as PCD or diamond, ceramic, and tool steel) that can cause the components to become bonded to the nozzle tip.

Count On Tools’ Urethane nozzle series can be applied to any style of pick-and-place nozzle for any OEM or machine type. Additionally, Count On Tools can generally provide a finished nozzle within three to five days, saving customers up to 50 percent over OEM designs for custom nozzles. There are no design fees and Count On Tools provides free quotes based on the equipment and type of component being placed.

All nozzles are guaranteed to function properly with the original equipment. Every nozzle manufactured by Count On Tools comes standard with a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee. If any customer is not 100 percent satisfied with the performance or quality of a product, Count On Tools will replace it or offer a full refund.

According to Curt Couch, President of Count On Tools, Inc., “Our Company understands that in order for our customers to remain competitive in today’s market, they must be able to cut costs while simultaneously maximizing the capabilities of their existing SMT assembly equipment to prevent costly investments in new equipment or increased labor from hand placements of odd-form components. This line of urethane nozzles allows us to help customers achieve better placement with odd-form components.”

Count On Tools Inc. to Highlight Contract Machining Services at SMTA International 2012

Posted by Z. Shook on 7/3/2012 to Event News

Count On Tools Inc., a leading provider of precision components and SMT spare parts, will exhibit in Booth #211 at the upcoming SMTA International Conference and Expo, scheduled to take place Tuesday October 16 and Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 9am-5pm at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, FL.

Product lines to be showcased at the event include: LED Nozzle Series, StripFeeder .mod series, the expanded ezLOAD PCB board supports series, and a broad assortment of standard tooling and custom nozzle designs for odd-form components. Products from the PB Swiss Tools division also will be on display (www.pbtools.us).

Additionally, Count on Tools will introduce its Contract Machining Services at the show. COT’s Contract Machining Division is a single source supplier for all precision manufacturing needs. The division is a precision component manufacturer specializing in all aspects of the machining industry, including CNC Swiss Automatic Machining. Whether you need fast turnaround, single parts, small lots, large quantities or a long-term supply with on-time deliveries, COT’s Contract Machining Division offers the highest quality and service. The company’s commitment to excellence is shown through its design and manufacturing processes. COT offers a variety of small job shop services and materials. To learn more about the Contract Machining Division, visit www.cotinc.com/mfg.

Also highlighted at the show is the expanded exLOAD series. The ezLOAD XL PCB Support System offers customers building larger boards the option of a custom built ezLOAD board support for their specific application. The design can be customized for any length and width combination. In most cases, it also is adjustable for multiple applications. The horizontal posts can be unlocked and replaced with longer or shorter ones to accommodate other board sizes. The design features an extruded aluminum base and soft, ESD-safe foam fingers. The ezLOAD system not only reduces changeover times, but also improves product build quality, increases revenues by providing significant cost savings and eliminates component damage during the assembly process.

Along with the ezLOAD series, Count On Tools will be unveiling their new StripFeeder .mod (Modular) System. The Stripfeeder .mod System features removable rails that can be re-positioned on the base plate. The rails align with precision pin locaters and lock down tightly with magnets to guarantee a stable, repeatable application. The innovative design holds the components securely in the machined tracks to prevent parts from being miss-picked, flipped in the pocket, or lost. The StripFeeder .mod system is built to JEDEC-standards and size specifications to allow the unit to be utilized in most types of SMT equipment or JEDEC-style tray feeder units. This model can handle both paper and emboss tape, simultaneously. It is quick to assemble and install in the machine and provides fast changeover between product runs without unloading from the machine. It is perfect for low volume, high mix or prototyping applications. Save thousands of dollars over customized feeders.

Company representatives will be on hand to explain how Count On Tools products and services can help optimize SMT equipment for faster production and lower build costs. Count On Tools supplies a full range of SMT tooling, odd-form component tooling and design services, and other SMT consumables for the electronics manufacturing industry. The company’s product range can be found in leading EMS companies worldwide. For more information, speak with a company representative in Booth #211 or visit www.cotinc.com.
